Come for a Tournament, Stay for the Leaves: Fall at Rocky Top Sports World

Here at Rocky Top Sports World, fall is one of our favorite times of the year! With cool, comfortable weather, the autumn climate in Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains is ideal for outdoor activities. Of course, Gatlinburg is also famous for its beautiful fall foliage. With over 100 species of trees in the Smokies, the area offers some of the most spectacular red, orange, and yellow leaves in North America.

This fall, we invite you to visit Gatlinburg for a tournament at Rocky Top Sports World. In addition to enjoying some great competition at our state-of-the-art sports campus, you will also have the chance to see the incredible autumn leaves in the Smoky Mountains. Read on for a quick look at everything visitors can take advantage of this season.

Peak Season for Fall Foliage

Pinpointing the best time to see the fall colors is difficult, because weather conditions cause it to change a bit each year. However, there are some general guidelines to keep in mind as you plan a leaf-peeping trip.

Fall colors come to the highest elevations of the Smokies during late September and early October. This period of time is perfect for a visit to Clingmans Dome, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the highest point in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

In the lower elevations, the colors typically hit their peak in the last two weeks of October and the first week of November. We recommend driving through Cades Cove during this time. The colors are absolutely extraordinary, and you may see some of the area’s iconic wildlife.
