Whether you are attending one of our sports tournaments or planning a vacation to the Smokies this spring, you will discover what makes this time of year so special! 1. Perfect Tournament Weather
One of the top reasons why you will love spring in the Smoky Mountains is because of the perfect weather for sports tournaments at our Gatlinburg sports campus! The daylight hours are pleasantly warm throughout the spring months, with temperatures generally ranging anywhere from 65 to 75 degrees. This is a fantastic time to take advantage of our playing fields and other outdoor facilities! If you have some extra time in the Smokies, you will also find that the spring weather is ideal for hiking, ziplining, sightseeing and just about anything else you want to do!
2. Beautiful Wildflowers
After months of cold and dreary winter, you can look forward to seeing the beautiful spring wildflowers in Gatlinburg and the surrounding area! The best place to see these gorgeous plants is in Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is just minutes away from our sports campus! There are so many flowering plants in the park that it is sometimes referred to as “Wildflower National Park”, so don’t miss the chance to explore some of the hiking trails! Start your visit at the Sugarlands Visitor Center to talk to a ranger and find out the top wildflower viewing sights!
3. Local Attractions in Full Swing
Another reason why you will love spring in the Smoky Mountains is because all the exciting local attractions are back in full swing! Whether you plan to visit Ober Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Anakeesta, Gatlinburg SkyLift Park or Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, they are all open for your enjoyment! If you are playing in a tournament at our sports campus, be sure to spend at least a few extra days in the area to discover everything that the Smokies have to offer!

A huge perk of our sports campus is that we are just minutes away from hundreds of fun lodging options, including cabins with scenic views of the Smokies! The spring is a fabulous time to stay at a cabin rental where you can open the windows and enjoy a fresh mountain breeze! Most cabins also feature a private deck where you can admire the beauty of the Smoky Mountains and maybe even take a dip into a hot tub! Other amenities that you can find at local cabins include fully equipped kitchens, game rooms, home theater rooms and more!
