5 of the Best Places to Get Dessert in Gatlinburg
Here at Rocky Top Sports World, we are big proponents of healthy eating. However, we also recognize that it’s important to reward yourself with a treat now and again! Our sports complex is located just a short drive away from a number of restaurants that serve mouthwatering sweets. After your big game at Rocky Top, we recommend getting dessert in Gatlinburg at one of the following eateries.
1. Mad Dog’s Creamery & Donuts
Mad Dog’s Creamery & Donuts is a paradise for anyone with a sweet tooth. This wonderful shop offers 24 delicious flavors of ice cream that guests can enjoy in a cone, sundae, banana split, or milkshake. Some of the most popular ice cream varieties include Smoky Mountain Fudge, Peanut Butter Cup, Blueberry Pie, and Black Walnut. In addition to ice cream, Mad Dog’s also sells fantastic funnel cakes, donuts, and cotton candy. We’re big fans of their red velvet donuts!
2. The Melting Pot
The Melting Pot is another one of our favorite places for dessert in Gatlinburg. If you’re looking for a truly decadent treat that is perfect for sharing, you’ll love this restaurant’s chocolate fondues. Made from your choice of milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or white chocolate, The Melting Pot’s fondue creations are served with fresh fruits, cookies, brownies, pound cake, and marshmallows. For an extra-special dessert, you can also order cream puffs, seasonal cheesecake, rolled gaufrettes, and fresh berries for dipping.
3. Big Daddy’s Pizzeria
Although Big Daddy’s is most famous for its pizza, this popular restaurant is no slouch when it comes to desserts! True to its Italian roots, Big Daddy’s offers three irresistible flavors of cannoli: Chocolate Chip, Caramel Pretzel, and Tiramisu. The chocoholic in your group is sure to love the Big Daddy Brownie, which is topped with chocolate and caramel sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate chips. Finally, guests can also enjoy a fresh take on a campfire favorite: Big Daddy’s signature dough stuffed with the ingredients for s’mores (Hershey’s chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers).
4. Three Jimmy’s
No meal at Three Jimmy’s is complete without dessert! Near the entrance to the restaurant, you will find a display case with a variety of freshly made cakes and pies. While the dessert selection can vary a little each day, some of the most-buzzed-about treats include the chocolate cake, turtle cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, caramel cheesecake, and the chocolate peanut butter pie.
5. Alamo Steakhouse
The desserts at Alamo Steakhouse are the stuff of legend. Far and away their most famous treat is the Chocolate Burrito, a flour tortilla wrapped around a Hershey’s chocolate bar, deep fried, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and topped with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Other highlights of Alamo’s dessert menu include the Apple Crisp, Blackberry Cobbler, Sea Salt Caramel Cheesecake, Killer Key Lime Pie, and the Better Than Your Mama’s Chocolate Cake.
