1. Scenic Hikes
Gatlinburg is right on the doorstep to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, where your team can choose from hundreds of hiking trails to explore. Start your visit at the Sugarlands Visitor Center, where you can pick up a park map and talk to a ranger about some of the recommended trails for your group. Other hiking options can be found at the Gatlinburg City Parks, including Herbert Holt Park, Mynatt Park, and Mills Park.
Another one of the outdoor activities in Gatlinburg your team will love is ziplining! This is an exciting opportunity to soar through the sky while enjoying the magnificent beauty of the mountains! There are multiple slopes for all skill levels, as well as a terrain park for snowboarders to show off their skills. If you have never tried skiing, you can take lessons at the Ober Gatlinburg ski school and learn the basic techniques of the sport. There is also ski and snowboard equipment available for rent, including helmets, jackets, and snow pants.
4. Mountain Coasters
Enjoy an outdoor adrenaline rush in the Smokies by going for a ride on one of Gatlinburg’s mountain coasters! These unique attractions are similar to a roller coaster, but you control the speed of your ride by accessing a simple brake lever on your sled! There is no need to worry as your sled is securely attached to the rails at all times, so go full speed ahead to experience a variety of twists, dips and corkscrews!
