Positive words of encouragement are one of the best ways to motivate kid, and everyone else around you! Sometimes a little boost is just what they need to feel like they can conquer the world, or play a sport!

2. Let Them Choose the Sport

You may have enjoyed a certain sport, but your child may not. You should let them explore all kinds of sports to help them figure out which one they have a passion for. If your kids don’t have a passion for football, baseball, or basketball, they probably won’t want to play and won’t be interested in it. But if there’s something they are really interested in, let them join a team and see how much they enjoy playing the sport!

3. Take Them to Games

Seeing people enjoying themselves out on the court or field may spark something in your kids.

If you can’t afford to go to a game or there’s not an event near you with the sport your child is interested in, you can probably find a game online or on TV to watch. A perk of being able to watch a game from home is pausing it to talk about what they like or don’t like about the game. It’s also a great way to spend time together!
