Rocky Top Sports World Plays Host to Turf Wars Kickball Tournament
First kickball event at Gatlinburg venue since opening in 2014
GATLINBURG, TN – Rounding third base and heading towards home! Terminology pertaining to base running and pitch counts are not usually commonplace at Rocky Top Sports World in Gatlinburg, TN – except for the weekend of Sept. 25-26 when the 2021 Turf Wars adult kickball tournament operated by Play Mars Sports took place. This tournament marked the first kickball event held at the venue since its opening in 2014.
The Turf Wars kickball tournament brought teams from Florida, Georgia, Indiana, North Carolina, Virginia, and the District of Columbia to compete. During this two-day event, a total of 26 teams participated, including 16 co-ed teams and 10 women’s teams.
Play Mars Sports is an organization committed to offering all their participants a sports and social experience like no other. “It was impossible for players to deny the scenic atmosphere once they arrived,” said Arion Herbert, Play Mars Sports owner. “They instantly gravitated towards the beautiful scenery, wildlife, and all of the attractions that Gatlinburg has to offer.
