All the Details About the AAU 5th Grade Girls Basketball National Championship

Looking for something to help improve your 5th grade girl’s basketball skills? Do they want to have more practice playing? You should sign her up for the AAU 5th Grade Girls Basketball National Championship. She will get to play against other teams and compete to become the champion of the tournament. We have all the information for this tournament below:

Eligibility

In order for your 5th grade girl to be eligible, she must be in 5th grade as of October 1, 2019. She can’t be older than 12 on or before August 31, 2020. For a girl that is in the 6th grade as of October 1, 2019 wanting to play down, she can be no older than 11 on or before August 31, 2020.

To be able to play, you must present a document proving what grade the athlete is in and a document proving how old the athlete is. You must also participate in a qualification tournament in order to make the National Championship. For more information on how to qualify, take a look at the 2020 AAU Girls Basketball Handbook.

Entry Fee

Registration costs $700. All entry fee payments must be made online. You must also complete registration, payment, and roster on Tournament Connect.

Tournament Dates

The entry deadline to be able to participate in the tournament is June 18, 2020. The tournament is from Wednesday July 8, 2020 to Sunday July 12, 2020. Registration, team practice and opening ceremonies will take place on July 8. The tournament will officially begin on July 9. The tournament format is as follows:

July 8 – Registration, team practice, opening ceremonies

July 9 – Registration, coaches’ meeting, pool play

July 10 – Pool play / bracket play

July 11 – Bracket Play

July 12 – Conclusion of bracket play

Spectator Admission

If you are coming to the AAU 5th Grade Girls Basketball National Championship just to watch an athlete play, it is $12 per adult and $10 per youth (ages 6-14). Children ages 5 and under are free. An event pass is available at $40 for adults and $30 for youth. Early admission sales are open Tuesday, July 7 between 2 and 8 p.m.
